TNSC x Vague x Vans: Under Revue Tour – Flatspot
Words: Ryan Gray
Late last week, the on-going The National Skateboard Co. x Vague x Vans ‘Under Revue’ tour rolled into the Devon city of Plymouth for its penultimate stop.
Josh Gregory, Michal Juras, Cam Barr and an injured Vaughan Jones were joined by Vans riders Sam Roberts and Aaron Jago for three days of south-western exploration, with Josh ‘Manhead’ Young making the trek from London in time for the Friday evening Flatspot orchestrated session.
The plan was for Manhead to fetch a stripped back version of the Vans ‘Bump to Bar Inn’ obstacle from NASS to set up and session at Plymouth’s Civic spot, but thanks to summer holiday traffic headed for Cornwall, Manhead and the obstacle arrived an hour and a half late.
Still, the kicker was quickly assembled and the strong gathering of Plymouth locals – along with heads from all over Devon and Cornwall – wasted no time in smashing the thing to proverbial pieces.
Our tour guide Aaron Jago undoubtedly stole the session, though the likes of Harry While, Tom Gabriel, Steve Attfield, Chaz Merryweather, Adam Keats, Josh Harper, Tom Gabriel, Dave Morgan, Deimate Sprainaityte and Finn McCormick all added to the bump to bar’s kicking. A special mention needs to go to Aaron’s brother Elliot Jago, who spent the best part of the session doing battle with a switch frontside heelflip over the thing, only to finally ride away from a beyond perfect one right as Manhead start to pack the kicker down. No one filmed it (to our knowledge), but everyone present witnessed it.
Check the edit and photo gallery from the Plymouth session below – the tour rolls into Peckham Rye skatepark in London this evening for its final session. Get there from 6pm for prizes for tricks and free Northern Monk beers.
