adidas Skateboarding present the new Carnaby Skate Spot, “A central London destination celebrating the city’s deep skate history and thriving community”. The Dime launch event took place earlier this week, Stan Smith was in attendance alongside Darude who was spinning the tunes and his infamous crowd pleaser ‘Sandstorm’. We’ve put together a photo recap of the night which you can swipe through below!
The space is located in the adidas Originals flagship store, a new space which includes pieces curated from the adidas Skateboarding archive. Each has its own tie to the city that boasts unique cultural links to the skateboarding community.
The space offers a regularly rotating selection of adidas Skateboarding’s best collaborations and colorways, a ‘UK archive wall’ dedicated to homegrown legends Chewy Cannon and Benny Fairfax, as well as archival items that support adidas’ own collection of skate memorabilia.
The seating references London’s Vicky benches; the table centerpiece is inspired by pillars found at London’s Southbank Undercroft, a location steeped in skate history. Both pieces were produced by Betong Park LTD, specialists in freeform concrete skateparks and sculptures. Carnaby Skate Spot aims to offer the London skateboarding community a place to come together, discover and socialise.
