“Mountain glimpses and pebble dash blocks. The early 2000s in North Wales was a psychological border with street wear uniform division. North Wales had three or four towns in the most deprived area in Britain. High violent crime mixed with peaking anti-social behaviour; knife-threatened victims forced to eat their own faeces, mothers igniting themselves with petrol. Turning the wrong path in these environments could leave anybody with long term effects.
Last year (2022) we automatically started filming in these areas because of the social progression that had happened. Very cautiously we checked out each area and gradually it became a new awakening in spots. Spots which were too risky to skate back then.”
