Levi’s – Skateboarding In Taghazout

08/10/2018

Levi’s Skateboarding helped build the first skatepark in Taghazout, Morocco. Appearances from Joey Pepper, Taghazout local Hamid Oubelaid and many more. See below for some words by Levi’s explaining the process of the skatepark construction.

“In the winter of 2017, Levi’s Skateboarding worked with Make Life Skate Life and local city officials to build the first skate park in Taghazout, Morocco. The park has been constructed alongside plans to develop a new municipal sports complex that allows free access to all regardless of economic standing. 105 volunteers and skaters from all over the world spent 19 days working with the community constructing the park on a plot of land overlooking the seaside town. Levi’s skateboarding held a celebration at the completion of the park. Builders and members of the local community came together for a day of skate contests, performances from local musicians, and a special appearance by the Mayor of Taghazout, who supported the build throughout the process. Following the construction of the park, community leaders from local governments, businesses, as well as youth associations formed the Taghazout Skatepark Association which took charge of running the skate park on a day today basis and offers free access to skateboard classes.”
