Issue 49 – Out Now!

09/03/2026

It’s that time again, upholding our side of the deal to justify being called a magazine comes the release of our physical magazine. Issue 49 will be hitting the usual skater owned establishments, breweries, cafe’s, galleries and bus shelter roofs imminently, if not now.

On the cover is Evan Johnson making his hometown proud by rolling in on a homage to a certain type of popular confectionary, as emphasised by the artwork of mag fave Dave Tyson. Luke George papped this special number scoring his first cover photo. Hats off to Luke and Evan for making this happen!

In this issue comes an Element article with sterling photo’s from Clément Le Gall alongside a brief history into the brands humble beginnings involving Earth, Wind & Fire and Richard Pryor up to the present day with Jim Craven‘s recent involvement leading up to their latest video release. Key subjects mentioned include karaoke and Peckham.

We also have a mythical quest piece written by Steve Hampton and photographed expertly by Reece Leung involving adidas Skateboarding in Barcelona searching for Glen Burns. Will they find him? Does it involve a specific shoe model? You’ll have to pick up a copy to find out.

You’ll be familiar with Dave Tyson from the best part of our publication, the ‘Skate Shop Quotes’ number used to complete each of our issues. The time has come to get to know the man in interview form. Jono Coote elevates Guy Jones‘ writing CV by allowing him to add a couple of questions to his interview with Dave. If you’re familiar with the goings on in Leeds from around 2010 and love inside jokes then this interview is for you! Accompanying the arcane tales is Dave’s brilliant artwork brimming with humour as always. Do not fear the the ‘Skateshop Quotes’ page is still very much present in this issue.

Ellis Gardiner has several pages dedicated to his fabulous style and within the interview we get an insight into tailoring, his love for older UK sitcoms and some nonsense about what kind of genre of music a straight no-comply is.

We have an extended photo gallery and the usual art gallery so pick up a copy for a tonne of imagery to appreciate. Thanks as always to everyone who advertises, KEEN & Northern Monk for distribution, all who contribute and to a lesser extent you, the readers, of which none of this would be worthwhile if you did not exist.
